Hydrotriche hottoniiflora originated from Madagascar and it is rare in the hobby.

It will normally grow to the height of the depth of the water it is in. This plant has needle-like leaves around the stem that are of an intense, bright green. It does not grow as fast as most stem plants, making it a valuable highlight plant for placement at the midground or used to fill the background.

It thrives in high light and medium soft water with a slightly acidic pH.
