Vallisneria spiralis "Red" is a variant of the common Vallisneria species. It retains all the characteristics of the Vallisneria spiralis and is an equally hardy plant suitable for the beginner hobbyist.
It makes little demands in an aquarium and can grow fast when conditions are optimal. Leaves are straight when young and the older leaves will coil up to 3 times along their length. Leaves are an attractive, dark red when grown under optimum conditions.
