Commonly known as "Java moss", Taxiphyllum barbieri, has been mis-identified as Vesicularia dubyana for a long time. However, it actually belongs to the genus Taxiphyllum and hence the change in name.
It is the most common and easiest to keep aquatic moss. It attaches itself to other objects using rhizoids (root-like structures) and very natural aquarium scenes can result.
It has always remained popular due to its low demands. Just place a clump anywhere in an aquarium and it will grow!
