Potamogeton perfoliatus is widespread in the temperate zones of South East Asia and Africa.
It is very easy to grow and makes few demands on the hobbyist. Good lights (>2wpg) is sufficient for it to thrive and it is not demanding on CO2 or choice of substrate. This is an excellent stem plant for the beginning hobbyist.
